These Terms of Purchase govern your booking with Alibi Entertainment Group, LLC (DBA A Murder Mystery Dinner). By accepting below and completing your purchase, you agree to them in full.
No event planning begins until these Terms are accepted and your deposit is received. Your date is reserved once your deposit (or full payment) clears. Confirmation is subject to game host availability. A copy of these Terms is included with your confirmation email.
A non-refundable 50% deposit (or payment in full) is due at booking. If you paid a deposit, your remaining 50% is automatically charged to your card on file 24 hours after your event ends. Filing a claim (Section 9) pauses that charge until a determination. Overdue/declined balances accrue a $25/week late fee (max $300) and may go to collections after 90 days. You agree not to disclose pricing to third parties.
Your package is priced by party size. If your party grows beyond the package you booked, the price adjusts to the correct tier.
Deposits are non-refundable. Changes must be made in writing at least 30 days in advance; later changes incur a $200 change fee plus $100 labor. If no host can be contracted, you may self-host for a $200 fee (refunded on return of the game kit) or receive a deposit refund. If we are unable to hold the event due to circumstances beyond our control (weather, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances), the event is eligible to be rescheduled, at no additional cost, to a date of your choosing.
7–8 guests play key characters; the rest investigate and all guess the murderer before the reveal. Deviations from the recommended format require a signed request and waive related liability. Game hosts facilitate and run the game; specific game hosts are not guaranteed. The Client will not offer hosts food or beverages.
You secure the venue and provide our team access at least 45 minutes before the scheduled event start time. You are responsible for props, decorations, and A/V (including a PA system where amplification is needed). We are not responsible for sound issues from inadequate equipment.
You assume full responsibility for injuries, damages, or losses at the event unless caused by our gross negligence, and you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims by guests, attendees, the venue, or third parties. Where alcohol is served, you are solely responsible. Guests agree to reasonable conduct toward our game hosts.
We may photograph or record the event for promotional use unless you opt out in writing before the event.
Any service concern must be filed through the authorized claim form on our website within 24 hours of the end of your event (before your final payment). We investigate (up to one week, including interviewing the game host(s)) and notify you of our final determination by email. Any remedy is at our sole discretion.
These Terms are governed by Ohio law. Disputes go first to good-faith mediation, then binding arbitration in Ohio. The prevailing party recovers reasonable legal and collection costs. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action.
These Terms are the entire agreement and supersede prior discussions; if any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect; you may not assign this agreement without consent; amendments must be in writing; and electronic acceptance and signatures are legally binding.

You may sell tickets to your murder mystery event through your own channels. Ticket pricing, refunds to your buyers, and sales tax are your responsibility.
All promotional materials must (i) credit "A Murder Mystery Dinner" as the event host, (ii) use only approved artwork/logos supplied by us, and (iii) not alter the event name or format. We must approve public-facing marketing at least 21 days before the event.
Ticket sales may not exceed the venue's legal capacity. You are responsible for all permits, insurance, and licensing required to sell tickets in your jurisdiction.
You may not sublicense, resell, or reproduce the script, characters, or materials. The event may not be recorded or streamed for resale without written consent.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, you retain your ticket revenue; our fee is the package price. We may request a final headcount and proof of compliance.
We may cancel with full deposit refund if these terms are breached (misuse of brand, unsafe sales, unapproved marketing).
