There is one fact that governs birthdays in Lincoln from September to November: on a home Saturday, Memorial Stadium holds more people than any city in Nebraska except Omaha, and everything else in town stops. Plan around it or plan into it, but do not ignore it.
1. A private murder mystery party
Ours, and first because it works mid-week and in the depths of February, when Lincoln offers very little else. Everyone gets a character and a secret, so a guest list of school friends, university friends and colleagues has an immediate reason to talk.
We come to your venue — a house near Sheridan Boulevard, a hall, a private room in the Haymarket.
2. A Haymarket private room
The restored warehouse district is the best thing about the city centre, and the rooms are good and genuinely cheap.
3. A game-day party
If it is autumn this is what people will want, and the birthday will come a distant second to the score. Know that going in.
4. A backyard party
Excellent May to September. Humid in July, and over by early October.
5. An evening at the Sunken Gardens
Genuinely beautiful and unexpected for a birthday. Seasonal, and there are rules about what you can hold there.
6. A brewery buyout
A small Haymarket scene at low prices. Better for a drinking crowd.
7. Bowling or an arcade bar
Indoors and weather-proof, which for half the year is the argument.
8. A house party with something planned
Cheapest and most flexible. Needs a plan or it splits into the people you know from Tech and the people you know from work.
If it is February and there is nothing on, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
