Genuinely one of the best things about the city, and a real shared experience. Summer only, and it self-selects on swimming confidence.

Indoors, good for six to eight, and it fragments above that.
4. A brewery buyout
A very good scene for the city's size, at fair prices with real function space. Non-drinkers need thought.
5. A greenbelt walk or bike ride
The greenbelt is a genuine civic asset and free. Seasonal, and it self-selects.
6. A cooking class
Good for twelve to twenty-five and reliably indoors.
7. A day in the foothills or at Bogus Basin
Twenty minutes from downtown, which is unusual. Weather-dependent and self-selecting.
8. Volunteering
Well received in this community. Parallel work rather than shared work.
The Boise planning note
Summer here is genuinely hot and smoke from regional wildfires can make August air quality poor enough to cancel outdoor plans — that is a real scheduling risk now, not a rare one. Have an indoor fallback for anything in late summer.
