Saint Paul takes winter more seriously than most cities take summer — the Winter Carnival has run since 1886 and there are years with an ice palace. If your birthday falls in late January, that is not an obstacle, it is the theme.
1. A private murder mystery party
Ours, and first because it is the strongest indoor answer in a city with five months of genuine winter, and it works just as well in July. Everyone gets a character and a secret.
We come to your venue — a house in Mac-Groveland, a hall in Highland Park, a private room on Cathedral Hill.
2. A Cathedral Hill private room
The nineteenth-century houses and restaurants along Summit and Selby give a milestone birthday genuine occasion, and cost less than the equivalent in Minneapolis.
3. A Winter Carnival birthday
Late January, and unlike anything else in the country. If your date lands near it, build the party around it rather than competing with it.
4. A summer party by the river or at Como
Excellent for four months. Como Park is free and holds any size of group.
5. A supper club or old Saint Paul institution
The city has genuinely old restaurants that make an evening feel like something. Long, seated, and limited for mingling.
6. A brewery buyout
A good scene at better value than across the river. Suits a drinking crowd.
7. Bowling or an arcade bar
Indoors and weather-proof. Loud and splits by lane.
8. A house party with something planned
Cheapest and most flexible, and in this climate the most common. Needs a plan.
If your birthday lands in the part of the year when nobody wants to leave the house, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
