Baltimore holiday parties are cheaper to put on than in most cities this size, which is a real advantage. The constraint is December weather and the fact that a downtown evening event asks people to drive in, park and pay for it, on a dark night, in the one month everyone is busiest.
Nine options and their trade-offs.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours, and first because it takes both problems away. We come to your office or a room you already have — no venue to book in the busiest fortnight of the year and no parking to negotiate.
It also stops the departmental clumping that makes most office parties flat.
2. A restaurant buyout
The default and good value here. Book by September for December; Harbour East goes first.
3. A hotel ballroom
Right for a few hundred people, and the Inner Harbour hotels do it well. Expensive, and the room is big enough to fragment.
4. A brewery buyout
Better value than downtown and plentiful. Casual, and non-drinkers need thought.
5. A museum or historic venue
Baltimore has genuinely characterful options. Long lead times and strict catering rules.
6. A daytime lunch
Much better attended, particularly with staff commuting from the county or DC, and a fraction of the cost.
7. An ice skating outing
The Inner Harbour rink is central and cheap. An hour, weather-dependent, and not for everyone physically.
8. A cooking or cocktail class
Good for twenty to thirty, and a task covers the first half hour.
9. Charitable giving instead of a party
Well received. Worthwhile, and not an event on its own.
Timing
Settle December by the end of September. We ask for about 45 days, so early October is the practical last call for the first half of the month.
If you would rather not ask anybody to park downtown in December, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
