December in Miami is the best weather of the year, which is exactly the problem. It is also peak season, so every venue is competing for tourist money and the prices reflect it. A December office party here costs more than the same party in a colder city, and books out earlier.
Nine options, and what each realistically costs you.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours. It is first because it takes you out of the December venue market entirely. We come to your office, your building's event room, or a space you already have — no competing with tourists for a restaurant in the one month the whole country wants to be here.
It also does what an office party rarely does, which is get people talking outside their own department.
2. A restaurant buyout
The default and the most expensive it will be all year. Book by September; by late October you are choosing from what is left.
3. A hotel ballroom
Right for a few hundred people. Peak-season pricing applies, and the room is big enough that people cluster with their own team.
4. A rooftop or waterfront venue
The weather will cooperate, which it will not in most of the country. Everyone else has worked that out, so book early and expect a minimum spend.
5. A boat charter
Memorable, contained, and expensive. Everyone is together for the duration, which is the appeal and also means nobody can slip away early.
6. A daytime lunch
Cheaper, better attended, and in a city with this much traffic, considerably easier on everyone. Ninety minutes and done.
7. A cooking or cocktail class
Good for twenty to thirty, and the shared task carries the opening. Priced per head.
8. A brewery or taproom
Wynwood and Doral have options with function space. Relaxed and better value than the waterfront, and non-drinkers need thinking about.
9. Charitable giving in place of an event
Well received. Genuinely good, and not on its own a party.
The timing that decides it
September is when December gets settled in Miami — earlier than most cities, because the season works against you. We ask for around 45 days, so early October is the last practical moment for a first-half-of-December date.
If you would rather sidestep peak season altogether, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
