Oakland is far better value than San Francisco for a December party and the venues are more characterful. The two constraints are winter rain and the bridge, which together decide who actually turns up.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours, and first because it happens where your team already is, so the bridge never enters into it.
It also gets people out of their departmental groups.
2. A restaurant buyout
Excellent food and better value than across the bay. Book by September.
3. A brewery buyout
Good value and plentiful. Non-drinkers need thought.
4. A hotel ballroom
Right above a couple of hundred people, near BART for preference.
5. A historic or industrial venue
Jack London and West Oakland have genuinely characterful spaces. Long lead times.
6. A daytime lunch
Better attended and cheaper, and nobody drives home in the rain.
7. A cooking class as the event
Works particularly well here for twenty to thirty.
8. A ferry-and-dinner evening
Distinctive and contained. Winter schedules are limited.
9. Charitable giving instead of an event
Very well received in this city. Not a party by itself.
Timing
Settle December by the end of September. We ask for about 45 days, so early October is the practical last call.
If you want a party nobody has to cross a bridge for, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
