Oklahoma City is inexpensive to host a party in and has more good venues than it did ten years ago. The two things to plan around are the size of the metro and the chance of an ice storm, which here is a genuine December possibility rather than a remote one.
Nine options and their trade-offs.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours, and first because ice cannot cancel a party held at your own office, and nobody drives across the metro to reach it.
It also breaks up the departmental clumping that makes an office party forgettable.
2. A restaurant buyout
Very good value here. Book by September for December.
3. A hotel ballroom
Right for a few hundred people and downtown has capacity at sensible rates.
4. A brewery buyout
Good value and improving fast. Non-drinkers need planning for.
5. A historic or museum venue
A handful of genuinely characterful options. Long lead times.
6. A daytime lunch
Better attended in a metro this size, and far cheaper.
7. A Thunder game
Popular and easy. Everyone faces the same way, and tickets for a group are not cheap.
8. A cooking or cocktail class
Good for twenty to thirty and reliably indoors.
9. Charitable giving instead of an event
Well received. Not a party by itself.
Timing
Settle December by the end of September. We ask for about 45 days, so early October is the practical last call — and have an answer for an ice day.
If you want a party that an ice storm cannot cancel, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
