Omaha is excellent value for a company party and the venues are better than the city's size suggests. The constraint is a Nebraska December, where an ice storm is a real possibility rather than a remote one.
Nine options and their trade-offs.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours, and first because ice cannot cancel a party in your own building, and nobody drives across the metro in it.
It also breaks up the departmental clustering that large Omaha employers tend to suffer from.
2. A restaurant buyout
Very good value. The Old Market books first; settle by September.
3. A hotel ballroom
Right above a couple of hundred people and downtown has capacity at sensible rates.
4. A brewery buyout
Good value and casual. Non-drinkers need planning for.
5. A historic or Old Market venue
Genuinely characterful buildings that do events well. Long lead times.
6. A daytime lunch
Better attended and cheaper, and nobody drives home on ice in the dark.
7. A zoo or aquarium evening
Henry Doorly does private events and it is a real draw. Guests wander, which limits it as a party.
8. A cooking or cocktail class
Good for twenty to thirty and reliably indoors.
9. Charitable giving instead of an event
Very well received in this city. Not a party by itself.
Timing
Settle December by the end of September. We ask for about 45 days, so early October is the practical last call — and have a plan for an ice day.
If you want a party an ice storm cannot cancel, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
