December in Reno brings genuine mountain weather, and a storm can close I-80 or the Mount Rose highway at short notice. Anything requiring a drive out of the valley in December is a real gamble.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours, and first because a storm cannot cancel a party in your own building.
It also gets people out of their own departments.
2. A restaurant buyout
Midtown has good options at fair value. Book by September.
3. A casino ballroom
Plentiful, capable and often better value than the equivalent elsewhere. Impersonal at a smaller headcount.
4. A Tahoe lodge event
Genuinely spectacular in December and a real weather risk. Have a fallback.
5. A brewery buyout
Good value and casual. Non-drinkers need thought.
6. A daytime lunch
Better attended and cheaper, and nobody drives home in snow.
7. A riverwalk or downtown venue
Central and walkable, which in winter matters.
8. A cooking or cocktail class
Good for twenty to thirty and reliably indoors.
9. Charitable giving instead of an event
Well received and not a party by itself.
Timing
Settle December by the end of September, and have an answer for a closed pass. We ask for about 45 days, so early October is the practical last call.
If a mountain storm could cancel your December plans, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
