December in Sacramento is mild, wet and foggy, and the city empties in the last two weeks as people head to family or the mountains. The workable window is the first three weeks, which is also everyone else's window.
Nine options and what each costs you.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours, and first because it works at your own office in the late afternoon — which suits a workforce with a lot of fixed state-government schedules better than an evening event does.
It also stops people sitting with their own team all night.
2. A restaurant buyout
The default and reasonable value here. Midtown books first; settle it by September.
3. A hotel ballroom
Right for a few hundred people. Downtown has capacity and it is priced sensibly compared to the Bay Area.
4. A brewery buyout
Good value, plentiful in Midtown, and casual. Non-drinkers need thought.
5. A historic venue or the railroad museum
Sacramento has some genuinely characterful options. Long lead times and strict rules.
6. A daytime lunch
Better attended and cheaper. In a city with this much government employment it also fits people's actual working day.
7. An ice rink outing
The downtown rink is seasonal, cheap and fun for an hour. Not for everyone physically.
8. A cooking or cocktail class
Good for twenty to thirty and indoors, which December fog makes welcome.
9. Charitable giving instead of an event
Well received and not, by itself, a party.
Timing
Settle December by the end of September, and aim at the first three weeks. We need about 45 days, so early October is the practical deadline.
If you want a party that fits a nine-to-five workforce rather than fighting it, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
