Wichita's December is shaped by two things: the aircraft plants, which run their own shift calendars and often shut down between Christmas and New Year, and ice storms, which are the genuine winter risk here rather than snow.
Nine options and their trade-offs.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own venue
Ours, and first because ice cannot cancel a party held in your own building, and we can run it at a time that fits a plant's shift pattern rather than a restaurant's booking sheet.
It also gets engineers and office staff into the same conversation, which in this city's larger employers rarely happens on its own.
2. An Old Town warehouse venue
The brick buildings around the district do events genuinely well and cost a fraction of a comparable room elsewhere. Book early — there are not many of them.
3. A restaurant buyout
Excellent value. Book by September for December.
4. A hotel ballroom
Right above a couple of hundred people, at rates that would look like a typo in Chicago.
5. A brewery buyout
Small scene, fair prices, casual. Non-drinkers need thought.
6. A daytime lunch
Better attended and cheaper, and nobody drives home on ice in the dark.
7. An aviation museum evening
In a city that builds aircraft, this lands differently than it would anywhere else — staff bring their families and it means something.
8. A cooking or cocktail class
Good for twenty to thirty and reliably indoors.
9. Charitable giving instead of an event
Very well received here. Not a party by itself.
Timing
Settle December by the end of September, check the plant shutdown dates, and decide in advance what happens if there is ice on the roads. We ask for about 45 days, so early October is the practical last call.
If ice on the roads could shut your party down, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
