Milwaukee's calendar is unusually lopsided. From June to August the city is outdoors and everything is festival season; from November to March it is emphatically indoors. Plan the same event in the wrong half of the year and it does not work.
Eight options, ranked.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own office or venue
Ours, and first because January and February are when a team most needs something and has the fewest options. We come to your office downtown, in the Third Ward, or out in Wauwatosa — nobody goes anywhere in the cold.
Everyone gets a character and a motive, and it needs no preparation from anyone.
2. A brewery buyout
The obvious Milwaukee answer and a genuinely good one — the function space here is better than most cities because the breweries have been doing it for a century. Non-drinkers need real thought.
3. An escape room
Indoors, which is half the battle here, and good for six to eight.
4. A Brewers or Bucks game
American Family Field has a roof, which makes it a genuine year-round option. Still three hours facing the same direction.
5. A lakefront or festival day
Summer only, and in summer it is one of the best things about the city. Entirely seasonal.
6. A cooking class
Good for twelve to twenty-five and indoors. Priced per head.
7. Volunteering
Well received in a city with a strong civic streak. Parallel work rather than shared work.
8. A curling or bowling outing
Both genuinely local, both indoors, and both work because nobody is much good at them. Limited capacity.
The Milwaukee planning note
Book summer events very early — the season is short and every company wants the same eight weeks. Winter is wide open, cheaper, and is when a team actually benefits most from something to look forward to.
If you want something that works in January as well as it does in July, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
