Minneapolis has one planning constraint that beats all others: for roughly five months of the year, anything outdoors is either impossible or a genuine act of endurance. That is not a complaint, it is a scheduling fact, and it means the indoor options had better be good ones.
Eight options, ranked for a Twin Cities team.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own office or venue
Ours, and first because January is exactly when a team most needs something and has fewest options. We come to your office downtown, in the North Loop, or out in the suburbs — no one has to go anywhere in February.
Everyone gets a character and a motive. It is a puzzle with a right answer, which works well on the engineering, medical device and finance teams this city is full of.
2. An escape room
Indoors, which counts for a lot here, and strong for six to eight. Beyond that the group splits into separate rooms and never recombines.
3. A brewery buyout
Northeast Minneapolis has an unusual concentration of them and they are good value with real function space. Casual, and non-drinkers need thought.
4. A Twins or Wild game
Easy, and the Wild covers you in winter when little else does. As team building it is limited — everyone faces the same way for three hours.
5. Curling
Genuinely a Twin Cities option and it works better than it sounds — nobody is good at it, which levels the room instantly. Limited capacity and it books up in season.
6. A cooking class
Good for twelve to twenty-five and indoors. Priced per head, and dietary needs take planning.
7. A lakes walk or bike ride
Lovely for four months of the year and a genuine pleasure. Entirely seasonal, and it self-selects towards the already-fit.
8. Volunteering
Very well received in a city with this civic culture. Parallel work rather than shared work.
The Minneapolis planning note
Book your winter event and your summer event at different times of year for different reasons. Summer is short and everyone wants it — it goes early. Winter is wide open and is when a team actually needs the lift. And if your people are spread between Minneapolis and St Paul, the venue's parking matters more than which downtown it is in.
If you want something that works in February as well as it does in July, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
