Reno has changed a great deal — logistics, manufacturing and tech now matter more than the casinos, and a lot of the workforce moved from California in the last few years. That means teams with little shared history, at four and a half thousand feet, with Tahoe forty minutes away competing for everyone's weekend.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own office or venue
Ours, and first because it works on a team of recent arrivals who do not know each other well — everyone gets a character and a motive and the game supplies the common ground.
Mid-week, at your office, about two hours. Nobody gives up a Tahoe weekend.
2. A day at Tahoe
Genuinely world-class and forty minutes away. A full day, weather-dependent in winter, and it self-selects.
3. An escape room
Indoors, good for six to eight, and it fragments above that.
4. A brewery buyout
A good midtown scene at fair prices with real function space. Non-drinkers need thought.
5. A cooking class
Good for twelve to twenty-five and indoors.
6. A Truckee River or riverwalk afternoon
Central, pleasant and free in the warmer months.
7. A casino night or show
Easy to arrange and most locals are indifferent to it. Better for visitors.
8. Volunteering
Well received. Parallel work rather than shared work.
The Reno planning note
Altitude affects people flying in from sea level for a day or two, and winter storms can close the passes with very little notice. Mid-week and indoors is the format that always works; Tahoe is the treat, not the default.
If half your team moved here in the last two years and barely knows each other, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
