Salt Lake City has two things worth planning around that most cities do not. A significant share of any team here does not drink, so a brewery outing quietly excludes people. And the mountains are twenty minutes away, which means winter weekends are already spoken for.
Eight options, ranked.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own office or venue
Ours, and first because it works for everybody — nobody has to drink, nobody has to ski, and nobody gives up a Saturday. We come to your office, mid-week, for about two hours.
Everyone gets a character and a motive, and no preparation is asked of anyone.
2. A ski or snowboard day
The obvious SLC answer and a genuine perk. It self-selects hard — the people who ski will love it, and the ones who do not will feel it.
3. An escape room
Several downtown and in the suburbs. Strong for six to eight and it fragments above that.
4. A canyon hike
Beautiful and close. Altitude matters more than locals remember for anyone visiting from sea level, and it self-selects.
5. A cooking class
Good for twelve to twenty-five, indoors, and it includes everybody — a real advantage in this city.
6. A Jazz game
Easy and central. Three hours facing the same direction.
7. A Great Salt Lake or Antelope Island outing
Genuinely distinctive and a good half-day. Exposed, and hot in high summer.
8. Volunteering
Very well received here and easy to arrange. Parallel work rather than shared work.
The Salt Lake planning note
Check whether an activity assumes drinking before you book it — in this city that assumption excludes more people than in most. And in winter, mid-week beats weekend, because the weekend belongs to the canyons.
If you want something that includes everyone regardless of whether they drink or ski, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
