Tucson's planning rule is simple and non-negotiable: from May to September, outdoors in the afternoon is not an option. Not uncomfortable — actually dangerous. That removes half the usual list for nearly half the year.
The other thing is the university, which shapes the city's calendar more than people from elsewhere expect.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own office or venue
Ours, and first because it is entirely indoors and air-conditioned and we bring it to you. In a city where the summer answer to everything is "somewhere with air conditioning", that is the whole point.
Everyone gets a character and a motive, and it runs in about two hours.
2. A desert sunrise hike
Genuinely spectacular and the right way to do the outdoors here — early morning, October to April. It self-selects towards the already-outdoorsy.
3. An escape room
Indoors, good for six to eight, and it fragments above that.
4. A cooking class
Tucson is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and it shows. Good for twelve to twenty-five and indoors.
5. A brewery buyout
A decent scene with function space at good prices. Non-drinkers need thought.
6. A day at the Desert Museum
Genuinely excellent and a real point of local pride. Largely outdoors, so a morning between October and April.
7. A Wildcats game
The university's basketball is a serious civic event here. Three hours facing the same direction and tickets are competitive.
8. Volunteering
Well received. Parallel work rather than shared work.
The Tucson planning note
May to September is an indoor season, full stop, and the monsoon in July and August brings genuine afternoon storms on top of the heat. Plan indoors and treat the desert as a winter treat.
If you need something that works in July as well as it does in January, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
