Charleston's problem for local companies is the same as any tourist city: almost everything is built and priced for visitors. A team building afternoon downtown costs what a wedding party would pay, for the same room.
1. A hosted murder mystery at your own office or venue
Ours, and first because it takes you out of the visitor economy entirely — we come to your own office or a room you already have.
Everyone gets a character and a motive, indoors and air-conditioned, which from June to September matters.
2. A harbour or sailing trip
Genuinely distinctive and contained. Expensive, weather-dependent, and hurricane season is a real consideration.
3. A cooking class
Charleston's food scene is world-class and a class here means something. Twelve to twenty-five.
4. An escape room
Indoors, good for six to eight, and it fragments above that.
5. A history walking tour
Genuinely excellent, and in July the humidity makes it hard work. A listening activity.
6. A brewery buyout
A good scene on the upper peninsula and in North Charleston, at far better value than downtown. Non-drinkers need thought.
7. A beach day at Folly or Sullivan's
Lovely and free. Parking is genuinely difficult in season.
8. Volunteering
Well received. Parallel work rather than shared work.
The Charleston planning note
Hurricane season runs June to November and it is taken seriously here — anything outdoors in that window needs a real fallback. And look north of the peninsula for venues; the price difference is substantial and your staff mostly live there anyway.
If everything downtown is priced for a wedding party, We bring the host, the storyline and every piece of the game to your venue, and we ask for about 45 days so it can be staffed and prepared properly. Pricing and availability shows what your guest count works out to, you can book a date directly, and the contact page reaches a person if you would rather talk it through first.
